In order to make up for the lost time due to 21-day coronavirus lockdown, Jain (Deemed-to-be) University, one of the top deemed-to-be-universities in the country, has launched virtual classes for its students through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC), a virtual study platform. The students can communicate and interact with the teachers and other students through MOOC platform.
“The lockdown has no impact on our students as we have shifted to virtual classes. A total of 1200 students have been pursuing 31 courses at Kochi campus of the Jain University. The advantage of online classes is that the students can continue their studies by staying safe at home,” said Dr. Latha, Pro Vice Chancellor, Jain University.
In the higher education sector, classes usually start by June after the completion of exams. But the lockdown has affected conducting of exams also. Though lost time is likely to cause anxiety for both parents and students, Jain University has launched virtual classes to address the issue.
