The ninth edition of FoodTech Kerala, the state’s only comprehensive food processing and packaging exhibition, will be held at Bolgatty Palace Event Centre from January 23 to 25, 2019. The expo, organized by Cruz Expos, is supported and endorsed by the Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP), Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and UCO Bank.
The three-day expo is based on the theme of ‘From the farm to the fork’ denoting the entire chain of the food industry, which includes the inception of food that mainly revolves around farms to the process and finally, food on the table of the consumer.
Addressing a media conference, said Joseph Kuriakose, Director, Cruz Expos, said, “The event has been witnessing an evolutionary increase in participation over the past editions. The expo, renowned for providing a unique and comprehensive platform for discovery and introduction of food processing, engineering and packaging services among the host of other benefits to the visitors as well as the exhibitors, will feature all facets of the food and beverage industry.”
The exhibition will witness participation from national and international companies and from the Department of Industry, Government of Kerala, which will set up an exclusive Kerala State Pavilion for SMEs in the food processing sector from the state.
As part of the expo, the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and FQF (FICCI Quality Forum) will organize a one-day Quality Training Certification Programme on ‘Sustainable Food Safety Practices : Regulations and Standards’ on January 24. The conference will focus on the important aspects concerning the growth of the food processing industry. The key objective of the training programme is to create awareness and prepare industries on the growing importance of ‘Standards’ and ‘Regulations’ in the changing scenario of global trade.
This year, the Kerala Business Expo (KBE) will be held alongside FoodTech Kerala. The Kerala Business Expo aims to promote and develop the food and beverages sector by disseminating information and knowledge to NRIs, potential investors and new entrepreneurs entering this sector. KBE is powered by Franchisee India, which will have an exclusive pavilion of major food brands from all over India that are looking to set up retail and distributorship in Kerala. KBE is also supported by Kerala Start-Up Mission, which will have an exclusive start-up pavilion for companies related to the sector.Both events will feature leading companies from the food sector including technology providers, food processors, equipment companies and other important stakeholders.
